Sholing and Bitterne
Your local neighbourhood policing team for Southampton.
About us
Neighbourhood policing teams work with local communities and partners to reduce crime and incidents, bring offenders to justice, protect vulnerable people, improve victim service and strengthen public confidence.
The team’s approach combines engagement, offender management, safeguarding and problem solving. It works alongside District Police Teams, local investigators and specialist force-wide services.
On the team
Your Local Bobby
Your Local Bobby is the neighbourhood policing officer dedicated to the area. They identify threat, harm and risk, investigate local crimes, collect intelligence and work with partner organisations to find the best problem-solving approach.
Local Bobbies are supported by Neighbourhood Policing Teams, District Police Teams, Missing Locate Teams, Priority Crime Teams, local investigation teams and specialist functions dealing with serious violence, child abuse and organised crime.
Named neighbourhood officers are shown here when a current local assignment has been published by the force.
Our priorities
Neighbourhood priorities are based on local harm, intelligence, reports from the public and work with partner organisations. Current priorities and action updates are published here when agreed by the local policing team.
